The Ark of Repetence and Praying -- Zhenlin (Master)

I have met and talked with my Christian friends these days. One of them, whom I met the other day, has been preaching the Bible for sixty years. We chanced to meet each other, and talked for over two hours. He said how he wished we had known each other much ealier. According to him, many of his fellow Christians had misconceptions about the Bible (as some Buddhists do to the Dharma). Amen!

I did read the Bible. Two magic wands of the Bible are sincere repentance and praying.

As long as we repent of the wrong deeds done, and never transgress again, while at the same time pray sincerely, we shall receive responses from God. He shall for sure bestow blessings upon us, and makes us feel His unsurpassed spiritual strength. For sure, we shall have our wishes granted, be free from disasters and diseases, and enter the Heaven by doing repentence sincerely everyday, reflecting within, making an effort to redress the wrongs, and at the same time praying with single-minded sincerity for what we want.

However, if we simply repent or pray without any sincerity but do so casually and perfunctorily, God stays far away from us. Nor shall we understand the truth of the Bible.

As a Buddhist, I see no difference in the doctrines underlying the two religions. It is my hope that the Christian friends get to know how kind and compassionate God is and how He loves every of his child. Meantime, we also have to follow His instructions to get the blessings from the Father. God loves us with great kindness and compassion. With His great wisdom, He builds the two arks of repentance and praying so that we gain release from disasters and bitterness, and rebirth in the heavenly kingdoms. Amen!
