Little Helly's Dream 5 -- The Jade Pond of Fairy Mother’s Abode

It is the 15th day of the Chinese Lunar New Year (the Lantern Festival). A consecration ceremony was held at the Three Emperors Temple in Tongyuan County, Shengzhou City, which is the hometown of a fellow cultivator (I call her sister). Led by Master, we set off from Flying-to-Heaven Cave for a visit to the temple.

Soon after we arrived at the town, while still in the coach, Helly told me, “Look, there are five fairy maidens in the air. They don’t wear clothes but ribbons. Beautiful! They are flying in the air, following our coach, and dancing to welcome us. Um, the maybe the welcome is primarily to Master!”

After a while, we were driving in the mountain.

Helly said, “Mom, look! Many fairies are flying in the air.”

“Mom cannot see them. I only see the graceful hills and the cloudy sky.” I answered.

“Mom, some fairies are green all over! A Mountain Spirit is dark all over! A red-haired spirit is dancing with a green-haired one. They look happy. They don’t wear any clothes. One of them has leaves on the head and body. Um…he should be the Tree Spirit! Mom, it is gorgeous!”

“What do you see now?”

“Another spirit. She is not wearing any clothes, but her body is covered by flowers. She must be the Flower Spirit! I also see the phoenixes, and three dragons, a green one, a red one, and a yellow one. The yellow-colored dragon is good-looking. They are wagging their heads and tails to welcome us. A spirit has horns in his head, and his hair is gray. They are standing in a line to welcome us! They must be very happy that Master comes to them!”

We arrived at the Three Emperors Temple just in time for the consecration ceremony. When it was over, we went to the sister’s home, and listened to Master talking on the Dharma. At some point, Master simply closed his eyes, sitting there quietly, and murmuring.

After a while, Helly whispered to me, “The fairies have all gone. They’ve left.”

Soon after she had said so, Master stood up, and said to us, “People are always worried about relations with each other. They think it an obligation and engage in dining all the time to pay for it…Let’s get back now since the spirits and fairies have left now.”

Master also shared with us what he was murmuring, which was consistent with what Little Helly had seen.

It started to drizzle as we were about to leave. We felt kind of depressed to be in the rain and wanted to stay longer. Little Helly even lost her temper before me after we got on the coach. It was very strange as she was doing it for no reason. I held her in my arms, and kept comforting her. She recovered after a while.

I asked her, “Why did you lose your temper just now?”

“The spirits and fairies had left, but the three dragons were still with us. They sprinkled the rain.”

“Um…maybe they shed tears sorrowfully as they did not want Master to leave.”
